Kim has made her home in Winston Salem for 21 years after growing up in Michigan and living in San Francisco for seven years where she graduated with a BFA in Textile Design from The California College of Arts and Crafts.

Kim has 17 years experience in all types of residential real estate, but has a special passion for historic and vintage properties. She has personally restored or renovated six houses in the Washington Park neighborhood where she lives today and is always on the look out for her next project.

She is also an outspoken advocate for Winston-Salem's older neighborhoods:

• Actively served on the Board of the Washington Park Neighborhood Association for 14 years serving as president, vice president, secretary and house tour chairperson.
  
• Worked on the research committee for the Washington Park Historic District, National Register of Historic Places Designation awarded in 1992.
  
• Member of the Board of the Historic District Commission for two years overseeing the city's historic districts.
  
• Active member of the Citizens Advisory Committee of the South Central Area Plan creating a guide by which to sensitively develop the city's early neighborhoods and historic districts.
  
• One of the founding members and first treasurer of the Winston Salem Neighborhood Alliance.
  
• Most recently she has been the Washington Park neighborhood representative on the Southeast Gateway Council Board where she has served for five years helping to guide the development of the new "Gateway" plans for new condos, townhouses and upscale retail development in the area at the foot of Old Salem.
  

She can be found as a frequent volunteer in neighborhood house, garden and downtown loft tours. When time permits she is an avid gardener and has been a past volunteer in Old Salem Gardens, the Forsyth County Master Gardener Program and has had her own garden on tour several times for neighborhood fund raisers.

Kim has a special empathy for those who relocate as she has lived in several parts of the country and has moved numerous times. She well understands the process of being uprooted and finding a new place in a new community.
